Sweet Emily!

Sunday, our friend's Kim, Keith, and their little girl Emily came to play at our house! Emily is 3 months younger than Colter, but did a great job keeping up with him. We played outside before it got too hot, ate a little pizza, and then watched the kids play some more! Can't wait to do it again...

Sweeeeeet Emily!

Can you see me?

Doors are soooo fun!

CAUTION: Cousins At Play!

Wednesday, cousin Tyler and Aunt Laura Willis came to play at our house....what a treat! We first started out in the backyard before it got too hot! The boys had a blast running around sporting their swim shorts and hats. I had the splash pad out, but it had a leak....bummer, but it didn't stop the boys from having fun with the hose! After it heated up we headed in and continued all the fun playing. Tyler brought over some really neat plastic animals that Colter just had a ball with. When they were finished playing with those Tyler chased Colter around the house (Colter's favorite game). When it hit about nap time the boys and their mommas were worn out. Can't wait to do it again!

Potty Time....

COLTER did IT....he PEE PEED in the toilet for the first time today....yeah Colter! I never thought I would get so excited about pottying, but everything changes when you have a little one. The reason I am soooo excited is, because I never thought Colter would pee pee in the toilet, because the last time I ever saw him pee pee was when he was one month old I took his diaper off and watch out! But that was the last time that had ever happened. Colter will be two at the end of September, so I haven't been pressing the issue just yet, but he has been showing interest in going, so I have been putting him on the potty to just try it out and see what happens. Well, he LOVES it...he will sit there for about 15 minutes playing with his toys and reading....BUT noooooo pee pee! Each time I put his diaper on afterward he would go immediately in the diaper. So, I thought I would NEVER see pee pee again....when all of a sudden I did! And when he went....I think I cheered so loud he almost fell off the toilet. He was a little in shock, but soon was having a blast wiping, flushing, wiping some more, flushing a few more times...you get the picture. So the future looks bright in the world of potty training!

Wow it is hard to believe someone could write so much about pee pee, wee wee, number one, widdle, etc...

Baseball Mini Vacation...

This past Friday Chad surprised me with tickets to an Astros game AND a night stay at the Ballpark Inn across the street from Minute Maid Park! If you are parents of little ones and need a night away....this is the way to go! We had ourselves a little mini vacation and we were only an hour away from Colter (thanks Memaw and Pawpaw). Once, we dropped Colter off we headed to a nearby mexican (of course) restaurant and enjoyed a peaceful lunch that we didn't have to scarf down, because a toddler was getting antsy! Then we headed to the hotel to check in and have some R & R before the game. I highly recommend the Ballpark Inn if you want to stay close to Minute Maid Park. It had great vintage baseball decor and I had never seen so much plaid in my life...plaid curtains, plaid bedding, plaid wallpaper, and plaid rugs, but we loved it! About 5pm we walked to the park to catch some batting practice. Our seats were so close to the field that you really had to watch for fly balls! I dreaded every time Chad had to leave the seats, just knowing a ball was going to peg me in the head and I would be cast all over tv, but I survived with lots of prayer and hiding behind my hands! Well, it was a great game against the Washington Nationals...we won in the 9th 6 to 5! Way to go Blum! Then it was time to check out the nightlife. After visiting a few places and doing lots of people watching we headed back to the hotel. What a great night and it was all within walking distance! Thanks Chad for such a wonderful weekend.... I love you!

4th Of July - Back To Austin

This weekend we headed back to Austin to celebrate the 4th of July, but this time Daddy (Chad) went with us! We had a great time swimming, bbqing, and relaxing, once again. Poor little Colter came down with a cold the second day we were there, so him and I spent most of the day inside. Thanks for having us...what a great time!
