My Little Turkey!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am still recovering from turkey overload. Colter had a great time playing with his cousin's at Chad's family's Thanksgiving. It was nice to spend time with the family and relax....did I say relax? I meant chasing Colter! We missed my family this year for Thanksgiving and hope to see everyone soon!! Love ya'll.....

Ready to HUNT!!!

This weekend (thanks to Memaw and Pawpaw watching Colter) Chad and I got to go sight in and practice shooting my new RIFLE....a Ruger Hawkeye 260! We had a blast and I was actually a good shot! Below is the bruise it left on my shoulder. Doesn't look that bad, but hurt like crazy! I ended up shooting about 20 rounds...that was all I could take. Now it is time for the real deal!! Can't wait...

REALLY???

Finally after 2 years I got Colter to take a pacifier! Haaa haaa....just kidding don't freak out moms!! Colter never would take a pacifier as a baby...I tried and tried and tried hoping it would help his fussiness and sleeping, but nope he never did....until today!!! This morning I was pulling out some toys for him to play with and in the closet there was a drawer filled with unused pacifiers. Well...Colter found them and he sucked on this one for a few hours! This is all a couple years too late, but funny anyhow!!

Toddler Talk.....

I have been wanting to start a little section on funny things Colter has been saying....he is quite the little talker and always has me laughing. So, I thought I would share some of the things Colter has been telling us and then hope to keep up with it in "Toddler Talk." Some of these are recent and some are a couple months old, but all still cute....

* Today I asked Colter how old he is and he said loud and clear.....18!!!! And then he tried to figure out how much that was on his fingers!!

* A couple weeks ago Chad was watching Colter and he was jumping on the couch. Chad asked Colter if he wanted a spanking? And he said "YES" bent over and pointed to his butt and then said "RIGHT HERE!!!" Chad said he couldn't stop laughing at him....I was sad I missed this one.

* Here is a sign that I shop too much at Walmart!!! A couple months ago (after a few trips to Walmart) I was doing the "little piggies" on Colter's toes one evening and then he decided to do it himself. He said "This little piggy went to Walmart." I said "no, market." He said "NOOOOO WALMART!" And he still today says Walmart instead of market. Then the next day I was just talking to myself in the kitchen and said "what are we going to do today?" Colter's response "Go to WALMART!!" So I listened to him and we went to Walmart. Colter will also get on his ride on toys and tell us "bye bye momma daddy!" We will ask him where he is going and everytime he says WALMART! I guess I need to start going to Target!

* When Colter gets mad he always says in this order "Hit Momma, hit Daddy, hit Emily!" And I tell him no we don't hit. Then one day he got mad at me and said "Hit Momma, hit Daddy, hit Emily, hit DR. PHIL!!!!"

* The week of Halloween I asked Colter what he was going to be for Halloween and he said "Papa Schoch!" That is his grandfather!

Tex Mex Beef & Potatoes

Here ya go....another easy recipe with some spice!

1 lb ground beef
1 red pepper, chopped ( I only used about a handful of red pepper and onion)
1 onion, chopped
1 pkg taco seasoning
1/2 cup water
4 cups frozen cubed southern style hash browns
2 cups frozen corn
1/2 lb (8oz) Velveeta, cut into small cubes

1. Heat oven to 350.
2. Brown meat with peppers and onions in large skillet, drain. Return to skillet.
3. Stir in taco mix and water. Add potatoes, corn, and Velveeta.
4. Mix well and spoon into a 13x9 baking dish.
5. Cover dish and bake 20 minutes.
6. Stir, then bake 15 more minutes, uncovered.

Whaaaaaala! Yummy easy dish.....

Halloween....

We had a great Halloween! First we went to the park to enjoy the beautiful day and then out to lunch. Then it was time to put on the costume....SPIDERMAN!!!!! Colter had so much fun trick or treating. The best part was that he would try to go into the people's homes. He would say "come in house," and push the people to the side and try to squeeze through!!! After trick or treating Colter and Daddy handed out candy. Then it was time to put Spiderman to bed....boy was he pooped!
