We celebrated Colter's 5th birthday - DISNEY WORLD style. What a week it was! This was the boy's first airplane ride and Coy's first vacation. They did great and loved every minute of it. We stayed at The Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was great, because there were exotic animals running around right outside your room balcony. The kids LOVED this, but Coy was a little disappointed because there weren't any monkeys. The whole trip he said "monkey" over and over.
The first day we arrived late afternoon, so we quickly checked in and then took a bus ride over to the Animal Kingdom park. We didn't realize it closed at 6pm, so we had just enough time to do a safari ride.
The second day we went to Magical Kingdom....truly MAGICAL. I felt like a little girl when entering this park. It's what you imagine when you think of Disney World.....Cinderella's Castle, Flying Dumbo, It's A Small World. All of the classics! We spent 8 hours at this park and the boys did great hanging in.
Then we went back to Animal Kingdom. This was fun, because it had a lot of dinosaur rides and animal attractions. Colter was such a trooper....he went on every ride he was able to go on in every park and only got scared on two. He never cried, he just said he didn't want to do it again.
The fourth day we went to Hollywood Studios. It was not a great day for Coy. Waiting for the first ride (which was over an hr) he had a major meltdown. So, he and I escaped back out through the waiting line and walked around while Chad and Colter did other rides. Coy wouldn't go to sleep and was so cranky, so him and I headed back to the hotel for a nice long nap.
The last day of our trip we went to Typhoon Lagoon Waterpark. The big boys headed off to do all of the BIG rides and Coy and I went to the toddler area. Coy loved this, because he wasn't confined to a stroller and boy did I get a work out chasing him.
This trip was so special and we made so many great memories! Looks like we will be heading back before we know it for Coy's 5th birthday!
Just a little note for anyone planning a Disney Trip...if you want to do certain restaurants then make reservations when you book your trip. Other wise you can really just wing everything else. I didn't plan for this trip at all and we did absolutely everything we wanted to with no issues. The best thing to invest in is a Disney World app for your phone. It shows you wait times, food locations, directions, etc.
All of my pictures were in order, but my blog decided for some reason to scramble them up.

ReplyDeleteWOW! I feel like a bad Uncle. Tell Colter HBday from us. We are coming into town tomorrow to see Mom and then leaving for Austin on Friday after my house visit.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are wonderful. I especially liked the one of Coy looking at the flowers in the sun light and the horse giving him a kiss. All of them were just wonderful of you all. Thank you for sharing. Love you all.
